Zooey Deschanel is one hard-working lady. She and musical counterpart M. Ward are gearing up for the release of She & Him’s Volume Two, but the actress-turned-crooner won’t be taking a break after the album’s release. Instead, she’s set to star in an HBO pilot, Deadline reports.
The pilot is based on Pamela Des Barres’ memoir I’m With the Band: Confessions of a Groupie, a book that chronicles Des Barres’ misadventures with rock ‘n’ roll heavyweights such as Mick Jagger and Jimmy Page—a much different breed of rocker than Deschanel’s real-life husband Ben Gibbard.
Deschanel will share executive-producer duties for the pilot with her manager, Sarah Jackson, and Curb Your Enthusiasm’s Tim Gibbons.
